Blue Bear Notes
Mashburn Elementary
A Note From Mrs. Gravitt
I would like to send a big "thank you" to students, parents, and teachers for making me feel welcome at Mashburn. Each day is a joy as I get to know more students and parents. Mashburn is a wonderful school, and I am so thankful to be a part of the Mashburn family. Thank you.
Thank you, parents, for your support during the FUN RUN, it was a huge success!!! We grossed $20,000 which is a direct reflection of students’ efforts and your efforts to ensure this was successful. Thank you for all your work and support with this event. Students really enjoyed the Run, and it was an exciting day. The money will go toward playground equipment as we hope to add some new items. I’m sorry to say this will not be a quick turnaround as it is time-consuming to get approval, order the equipment, and installation of the equipment. We are working to get all of this in place as soon as possible. Again, thank you for your support in this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Carla Gravitt
Veterans Day Celebration
Our wonderful Chorus will be performing in a Veteran’s Day program on Friday, November 10th at 9:30 am in the gym. Families are invited to join us in a celebration of our great nation’s veterans.
During the ceremony, we will be honoring veterans and current military personnel who are free to attend the program. The veterans will also be honored at a breakfast in the Mashburn Café at 9:00 am.
If you are a veteran, have a veteran in your family, know of a veteran, or someone currently serving in any of the various military branches, please let us know so we can invite them to our program to honor their service. We will send you the invites for each veteran you have included.
Please RSVP by Saturday, Nov. 4th
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, November 10th at 9:00 am in the cafeteria and 9:30 am in the gym. Come help us celebrate the wonderful veterans that have given so much for our country!

Counselor’s Corner:
As we enter into November, our Core Counseling Curriculum will focus on World of Work Skills: Communication & listening and our first Career Pathway for grades 1-5. We will be discussing and practicing good communication skills as well as exploring different career pathways based on Georgia’s CCRPI (College & Career Ready Performance Index). If you’d like to share your career with your student’s class or grade level, please add your name and contact information to our Career Week google form listed below.
Once we have volunteers, we will determine how to best utilize your talents to build curiosity in different career pathways and give our students a glimpse into the world of work!!!
I am reflecting on Thankfulness this month! I challenge each of you to sit down with your family over dinner, family game night or a special time to have quality time together and share what you are thankful for as a family and about each other individually. Building your family’s communication around thankfulness and gratitude is a Ridiculously Amazing way to grow as you value each other’s views, increase positive family communication and enjoy each other! Happy November!!!
Love, Mrs. Bryant & Aubie
