Math and Science - Mr. Kirk

Math - We are ordering, adding, and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. There will be a math quiz Thursday or Friday, depending on weather.

Science - We are talking about Ecosystems.

Reading & Virginia Studies - Mrs. Combs

Reading- We are working on character development.

Spelling-no spelling this week

Writing-We will be learning how to use hyphens.

Virginia Studies- We are reviewing 4th grade material, starting with VS 2 Geography and Native Americans. Students can use to study. That website has all information broken down into standards (VS 9a, VS9b, etc.) with fun games to play to review.

I would like to welcome, Ms. Cruse, from Bridgewater College, to our classroom as our student teacher. She was here in the fall completing a practicum and will now be with us through April finishing her requirements to obtain a teaching degree.

Yearbook Sales: January 16th - January 29th

If you did not purchase a yearbook in August on “fee day,” your child will be bringing home a yearbook order form. Until January 29th, the cost of a yearbook is $14. If there are extra yearbooks at the end of the school year, the cost will be $18.

*There is no intramurals on 2 Hour Delay days.

*Family Life is January 19th for 5th grade.
