The first ever UCSC 48-Hour Film Competition, Slug 48! - Register Now
We are extremely excited to announce a project that has been in the works behind the scenes for some time:
the first ever UCSC 48-Hour Film Competition, Slug 48!
Slug 48 is brought to you thanks to the support and enthusiasm of UCSC alumnus Kevin Nolting, former editor at Pixar Animation Studios, where he edited the Academy Award-winning films Up!, Inside Out, and Soul.
How does this work? You all will have 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and complete a short film with a mystery theme, which will then be screened at a venue on campus and considered for various awards that will be given out by some incredible guest judges, including Kevin Nolting himself!
** To learn more about this competition, visit the Slug 48 website! **
- You will have from Friday, April 19th at 5pm when the mystery theme is revealed until Sunday, April 21st at 5pm to complete your film.
- The Screening + Awards Night will be the following Wednesday, April 24th, where we will all gather to watch the films and celebrate our award winners!
This competition is open to all UCSC students, regardless of major or college affiliation.
We can't wait to see what y'all come up with, and we hope you are as excited as we are about this awesome opportunity to create some cool (and fast-paced) creative projects!
