**Special Note for learners in Band:
We have heard from Mr. Miller and recommend that all band learners do their schedule pick up in the afternoon regardless of assigned grade level time. We will be able to help you then and you do not need to miss the band morning activities.
If you are unable to come during your assigned time, you are able to come during one of the other times. The times help us with making sure that you don't have a long line to wait in. Please do not come outside of our schedule pick up windows as we do take a lunch break or have other meetings/obligations.

SchoolPay
Device Fee
The following email was sent by the district regarding
Dear Coppell ISD Middle and High School Families,
Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, all middle school, CHS9 and Coppell High School parents or guardians will pay a $25 non-refundable annual Device Fee for their child’s school-issued iPads. All New Tech High @ Coppell parents or guardians will pay a $40 non-refundable annual Device Fee for their child’s school-issued MacBooks. This fee applies to all 6-12th grade learners, because all of these learners take their devices home for homework and school projects.
This fee will help with covering issues that learners and families have had in the past with broken devices, lag time for fixes and lost cords or chargers, and also help with our overall sustainability of devices in the district. Details about the fee and what it covers are available at www.coppellisd.com/devicefee.
As you receive your online enrollment email in early July and complete this mandatory enrollment process, you will be directed to this link to pay the fee for your child for 2019-2020. Parents and guardians will use SchoolPay at www.schoolpay.com to pay the annual Device Fee electronically. If you do not have an account, you can create one on www.schoolpay.com directly from the login page. The “ipad Device Fee” or “Macbook Device Fee” will be among the payment options listed in alphabetical order. You also can use the search bar function to search for the fee that applies to your child/children. You can make payments for multiple children on this site.
For all incoming 6th graders and incoming 9th graders at New Tech High @ Coppell, payment of the Device Fee should be made prior to a student receiving a district device or accessories. New students also should pay this fee before a device is issued to them. Please note, if you are trying to pay a fee for a brand new CISD student, it will take at least 24 hours after your campus registration appointment for the student to be recognized by the SchoolPay system.
If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact your campus administration or counselor for alternative arrangements.
**For those of you wondering about private insurance, here is the response I received when I asked that question: The CISD Device Fee only covers repairs. If the device is lost/stolen, the learner is still responsible which insurance would cover if they choose to keep insurance. Insurance would also cover repairs in the event the learner hit a 3rd or 4th repair within a year.
Rookie and New Learner Laptop Information
For incoming Rookies:
The laptops are 13 inch MacBook Airs (2018 version model A1932). Learners can bring any hard case that they prefer. All learners will be expected to have their laptop cases in order to be able to check out a MacBook Air.
If learners have not returned their iPads to their middle schools prior to this, they will need to return them at this time in order to be issued a laptop. Please remember to bring charger cords and blocks with you. If you are missing any items, you will be charged a fee.
An additional subject of note regarding the laptops, these new laptops will have the USB3 ports on them instead of the USB2 ports that most people are familiar with. If you have thumb drives or other items that are USB2, you may want to consider looking at some cheap USB2 to USB3 converters (you can also find these on Amazon or the like). Just a hint as we get ready for the start of the school year
For incoming Sophomores or Juniors: The laptops are the previous model of the 13 inch MacBook Airs (model A1369). Learners can bring any hard case that they prefer. All learners will be expected to have their laptop cases in order to be able to check out a MacBook Air.
Learners coming from CHS or CHS9 must also return their iPads with charger and block. Please ensure your old device has been wiped. Instructions

First Day of School
Things to know about the first 3 days of school:
As is custom, we will start the first three days in First Week Project groups. You will receive a newsletter the week school starts with the classroom you are assigned to for those first three days. Please come to school ready on Wednesday with your laptop! For those of you new to our school, you will still go to any CHS or CHS9 classes during those scheduled times, you just won't go to your regular classes when you are on the NTH@C campus.
Future Testing Accommodation Information
NTH@C College Board and ACT Testing Accommodations
Application Process and Forms
A student with a documented disability may be eligible for accommodations on College Board tests (SAT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT, and AP exams) and the ACT. The school does not automatically apply for students to receive accommodations, but will assist families once the request is made to begin the process of applying for accommodations if their child is eligible for Section 504 or SPED. Parents should initiate the process by visiting our information page located on the New Tech High Website, under Announcements:
If you have any questions regarding testing accommodations, please contact Ms. Shaikh, Assistant Principal at rshaikh@coppellisd.com.
