Draft K-6 Curricula
Alberta Education released the draft K-6 curricula last week and is inviting feedback from all Albertans.
EICS will spend the next several weeks unpacking the new curriculum. We will be engaging our teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders before providing our feedback on the survey.
Our EICS educational consultants will be reviewing the new draft curriculum, and we will be engaging teachers in various grades in the review. We will also be seeking input from Alberta Education on what a possible pilot might entail - release time, professional learning, and resources.
Prior to a recommendation being made regarding piloting, EICS is committed to a comprehensive review.
We invite you to provide your feedback to Alberta Education

Madonna Catholic School and Catholic Social Services (CSS) Sign of Hope is excited to begin fundraising for the women and children served by Lurana Shelter. Lurana Shelter is a 21-day crisis shelter operating 32 beds for women and their children who are in need of urgent, safe housing. We also request that you keep the women and children facing abuse in your prayers so that someday they, too, may “choose joy.”
Bend the Rules
All students are invited to Bend the Rules on Thursday, April 15, 2021
Each rule bent will cost the student $1.00. Students may choose from the following:
Wear a hat
Wear your clothes backwards.
All money collected will be donated to Lurana Shelter.
Thank you for your support of our Elk Island Catholic Schools Division Social Justice Project to support Catholic Social Services’ Lurana Shelter.
Please Note: Due to Covid, please make your donations on PowerSchool.
Thank you for your support!
