Hello West Ridge Families!!!!


These first two weeks of school have been amazing!!! Thank you for all of your patience and grace as we figure out after school departure.


Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, 9-15-2023. Enjoy your 3 day weekend and we will see you on Monday.


There is lots of Information in this newsletter so be sure to read all the way through!!!


New entry into the school!!

  • come in through the main doors
  • enter the first set of doors (these doors are unlocked during the school day)
  • in the vestibule press the phone button to the left of the handicap button
  • the office will buzz you in
  • please have your photo ID with you


Free and Reduced Lunch:
  • must be filled out every year (even if you qualified last year)
  • click on the button at the bottom of this page to fill out the application
  • not sure if you qualify...you can still fill out the application


Please call the office (208-773-7291) if...

  • your child will not be at school
  • for any end of day transportation changes (before 3:00)


Label your child's...

  • lunchbox
  • water bottles
  • coats
  • this helps us return lost items


Reminders:

  • no hats in the building
  • hats can be worn outside at recess
  • please walk your bikes and scooters on school property


Office hours are 8:00-4:00 and PD&I Fridays are 8:00-3:30

"BE THE ONE" Fundraiser Begins Monday, September 18th

Check your Emails on the morning of September 18th...for more information on how to help raise funds for our school.


We are raising money for...


  • an electronic reader board
  • school signage with our new colors and logo for hallways and the lunchroom


Last year we were able to purchase the following with the help of our families and their fundraising efforts!!!


  • adaptive swing for the playground
  • 3 playground sensory structures (see below)
  • 2 sensory paths for the primary hallways
  • 4 cornhole games
  • 4 giant connect 4 boards
  • 4 giant jenga sets
  • 4 ladder toss games
  • signage for around the inside of the building (see below)
  • several classroom and student supplies

Cross Country Information!!!


  • Cross Country started today!!!!
  • Registration for this program is now closed
  • Cross Country practice is every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00-8:30 am.
  • Cross Country t-shirts can be purchased through Momentum Ink by clicking the button below. T-shirts must be ordered by Sept 17 to allow for processing time and delivery to the school before the meets.


Cross Country Meets: (Dates and times are still being confirmed for the meets)
  • practice meet is October 4 at Ponderosa Elementary
  • ALL-district meet for grades 1-3 on October 11 at Genesis Prep/Real Life Soccer fields ALL-district meet for grades 4-5 on October 10 at Qmelin Park
  • Meets take place after school
  • No transportation is provided for meet events
  • More information will be given regarding the practice meet and other pertinent information at the first week of practices
  • All students must have a filled and submitted online registration form to participate in practices and meets and to establish how they will get home after practices

Comfortable shoes to run in and water bottles are encouraged for cross country practices and meets.

Parent Advisory Meeting

JOIN US FOR OUR FIRST PARENT ADVISORY MEETING!!!


What is Parent Advisory?

Well, is much like PTO. We meet with families to discuss happenings at school, plan family events, share information about our programs, share goals, make goals and much more. We meet once a quarter.


When: September 19th @ 4:00pm

Where: West Ridge Library


Topics for first meeting:

  • Our Title 1 program
  • Grandparents Breakfast
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Fundraiser details and what will the money fund
  • Brainstorm topics for future meetings
