Arrival and Dismissal
Thank you to all of our families for your patience and support as we work to make our arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for everyone. Your attention to our routines and procedures together with your patience and understanding is helpful to all!
Please remember that at arrival and dismissal, while we are following additional safety measures to address COVID19, parents and caregivers will remain in vehicles or off campus grounds (remaining on the softball field side of the grounds) when dropping off or picking up students. During these times of the day, staff are stationed at various points around the building so that students are always within sight of at least one staff member.
Arrival: Students will enter through the outside door of their class room beginning at 7:45am. Student drop off via car will be in two areas: K, 1st and 3rd will be to the right along the high school softball field side; 2nd, 4th and 5th will be to the left. Please follow the signs.
Dismissal: Buses will be loaded first along with release of our walking students; car pick up will follow.
Breakfast/Lunches
School breakfast/lunches are provided free of charge again this year.
Breakfast: Breakfast will be available beginning at 7:40 for student pick up in the front of the school and also on the high school side of the building, please look for the signs.
Lunch: Students may select from two lunch options. Teachers will ask students if they need lunch for the day each morning and indicate their lunch selection to the kitchen. Students will eat lunch either outside, weather permitting, or in their classrooms.
2021 - 22 Health and Safety Updates and Reminders
Please be sure that you are screening your child at home for any potential COVID19 symptoms each morning. If your child is displaying any symptoms be sure to keep them at home. It is important for us to take good care of our own families and one another during these times.
You can find important health and safety updates on the WLWV DIstrict website. The FAQ section is particularly helpful as it addresses Athletics to Busing to Quarantining and so much more. Please take a moment and glance through his informative section. This information is updated regularly and is a great resource.
Greetings from the BCPS PTA Board!
I'd like to introduce our PTA Board to you...
President - Khuyen Meiling-Wesse
Vice President - Jessy Lee
Secretary - Emily Wilson
Treasurer - Emily Durst
We are a group of parents who volunteer to support our children, and the staff in a variety of ways...planning classroom celebrations, supporting Art Literacy, and organizing fundraising events, to name a few.
I would like to encourage you to join the PTA. Our member dues and the money raised from our fundraiser events go towards providing classroom and grade level funds, which allows teachers to purchase extra items for their classrooms. We also fund new library books, and updates to technology. Recently we helped to update playground structure, and we have brought artists in residence into work with our students.
We understand how busy life can get, and how limited time can be, and we want to assure you being a PTA member does not require you to give more time than you have! We usually have one meeting a month that are held in the evening where we discuss and plan events, and you don't have to be a member to come to our meetings, but your membership is a great way to support our endeavors! And your input is so important to us. We would love to hear about what is important to you and your children.
As the saying goes, "Many hands make light work"! Your membership is a way to contribute to our school community. Please consider becoming a member, let's make this year a fun and memorable one! You can also make a tax-deductible donation to the BCPS PTA.
We encourage EVERYONE to join our PTA meeting on September 14th. You do not need to be a member of the PTA to participate in our meetings.
See everyone on Tuesday, September 14th at 6:30pm on ZOOM.
