College Visits
Over the next month, all students in grades 5-8 will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) for their annual College Visit. During these visits, LF students will be participating in hands-on STEM activities, learn about college-readiness and receive a tour of the WPI Campus.
Please keep an eye out for permissions slips being sent home!
Student Spotlight
"Both of these students have been working so hard on their illustration unit. They both follow the drawing directions, use 5 or more colors, add background details, and fill the entire page. Their pictures always tell a story!"
Great work Isaiah & Zemira! We love seeing your beautiful illustrations!
NGRID STEM Academy
Last Friday was our first of 3 STEM Academies provided to our 8th Grade students by National Grid. During the first session, students learned about NGRID's focus on renewable energy, their commitment to DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) and participated in hands-on learning activities. The NGRID volunteers will be again the next 2 Fridays - we look forward to what we can learn next!
Thanksgiving Assistance
As the holidays are approaching, we are preparing to provide support to any of our LFCPS families who may be struggling a bit. If you are in need of some assistance for Thanksgiving meals, please reach out to either Maritza Bryan at: mbryan@learningfirstcharter.org or your grade level guidance counselor so that we may help!

Career Speaker Highlight
Students in grades K and 1 had a visit from a local firefighter who shared about his career and college journey. Students learned that even as adults, we are never done learning! In your career you continue to learn by attending workshops, meetings or training. We are very thankful he joined us!
Shout out to the Kindergarten and 1st grade students for showing respect and responsibility during the guest speaker visit. You sat, you listened, you prepared questions so you could learn more about the career and showed that you are excellent role models. Way to go K and 1 we are so proud of you!
