ST. MARY PHOENIX NEWS
August 31, 2018
Mrs. Marvin's Corner
The year is in full swing. The excitement and motivation is high. Last year when we voted on a new Mascot for St. Mary's we spent a great deal of time reflecting on who we were as a school and what we were going to be in the future. The "Phoenix" was chosen because it symbolizes "renewal" and is associated with certain aspects of Christian life. From the moment students stepped into the building this school year the level of engagement and energy has been over the top. As a team, we are looking forward to exceptional student growth in all aspects of their character, faith and knowledge.

STREAM at St. Mary's
This summer teachers participated in a variety of classes to promote Science, Technology, Religion, Arts, and Math. Mr. Crawford and Mr. Woods are spearheading our initiative to bring more engaging STEM projects to our school. Our 4-7 Team has been working with each other to provide cross-curricular instruction to promote our school goal of increasing problem solving and critical thinking skills. What does that look like? It looks like all content material being integrated in all classes. We are working on our ideas for Science Fair this year. Thank you to all of the parents who attended "Parent Night". We are looking forward to a great year.
