CMS PIRATE PRESS
October Updates
Principal Update
I cannot believe we are almost a quarter into the school year! This first semester is definitely flying by, and we have some great things happening at CMS. Please read over this newsletter to learn about upcoming events for the month of October and beyond. This is a VERY busy month, so please encourage your student(s) to continue to work hard and finish the quarter strong!
The Home Access Center (HAC) can be accessed at any time to view your student's grades. The link for this can be accessed on the school's website. Student passwords are the same as last year, but you are welcome to call the CMS office to receive information about viewing grades!
-Dr. McPhate
*Please note that dates/times may change throughout the month.
Health Screenings
We want to keep our schools open and students in school. Please monitor your students' health/wellness at home before sending them to school every day. If your child has one or more of the following symptoms, please do not send them to school until they are resolved:
- 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher temperature when taken by mouth
- Sore throat
- Uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
- Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
- New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
Guest Speakers
Previous and upcoming guest speakers:
- AR Game and Fish
- Alvin Medlin (Air Force)
- Zach Hall (Storm chaser)

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENTS TO COME IN FOR TUTORING!

Our next fundraiser starts Monday, October 3rd! Kiss The Pig is a fundraiser where the participant with the most money in their bucket on Homecoming Day gets to kiss a pig! The three participants are: Mr. Brumley, Mrs. Whitworth, and Dr. McPhate! Bring your money and put them in buckets to raise money for our PTO and watch some pig smooching!
