Eastside: The Greatest School
"No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else."
Eastside Mission & Vision
Working in partnership with the community, Eastside Elementary will provide all students:
A collaborative team of professionals who are committed to improve their practices, so that all students learn at high levels
A safe, positive, and inviting learning environment
An engaging and challenging curriculum focused on essential academics and life skills
Individualized and timely support that provides students with what they need to succeed
Your Best Never Comes Easy
I look forward to seeing everyone that accepted my challenge to read the Growth Mindset picture books that I purchased with Title I funds. Make sure to send a picture to Mrs. Manning of you accomplishing this challenge with your students!
Details for the Week
- Progress Reports will go home today!
- Start PROWL right at 7:50 am. Do not wait on all your students to get there. Please do not stop PROWL until 8:20 am.
- At this point in the year, our hallways need to be a working museum of the learning that is occurring in our classrooms. Please keep updated work displayed in hallways.
- 3rd-5th grade should have their first entry on SIT Google Docs by this Friday. Remember to briefly share targeted intervention with results. For example, Sam worked on identifying lowercase letters with the alphabet arch. He can identify the letters in his name but still needs to focus on all other letters.
- MAP Progress Monitoring for students (K and 1) will be this week on Friday during PROWL.
- DIBELS Progress monitoring for grades 3-5 this week.
- Agendas for team meetings this Wednesday can be found in your Google team drive. Grades 3-5 will meet as a content team.
- Car rider spreadsheet: Be sure to pull up the spreadsheet before 3:10. You will dismiss the early car riders on the spreadsheet at 3:10. If you are working a paw or calling, you also need to be in the lobby by 3:10. The rest of the car riders will be dismissed at 3:15. We have to do this efficiently due to the increase in car riders this year. It is doubled from last year. If we are not efficient, the car rider line goes all the way down Wilson Farm Road and the buses can't get to our school.
- On Thursday, the EAST program will be here to create a promotional video for our school! They will be interviewing a variety of people including students. They will coming into classrooms to video activities going on. If they enter your room, be sure to let them know who CAN'T be on video.
- We will take our Human Flag Photo on Friday. We will call you over the intercom to come to the bus parking lot with your class. Mrs. Gordon is in charge of this event and has everything planned out for it to run smoothly. Make sure to send home the Human Flag note for parents on Monday with the progress reports.
- I've noticed that many of you have not logged into the Great Minds (Eureka Math) website since the beginning of the year. Remember as a classroom teacher, this is a great resource. If you are unsure of all the options available on this website, please let me know and I will be happy to show you. We pay for this subscription and we need to get our money's worth!
- We will meet on Friday with each grade level during your afternoon recess. This will be a time to help us determine our relationship students!
