Summer Office Hours

The school office remains on summer hours until the week school starts. Hours are 9am-1pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. While we welcome your emails and phone calls, please be aware that the next few weeks are a busy time for faculty and staff as we prepare to welcome your students back. Regular 7:30am-3:30pm office hours will resume beginning Monday, August 9th.

Meet the Teacher

August 9th from 4pm-5:30pm is Meet the Teacher. Given the rise in COVID-19 and the Delta variant, we will be reducing the amount of people in the building at one time. Teacher’s will send emails to their families by August 6th. Here is the following schedule for Meet the Teachers:

  • Families with last name A-M should come between 4pm- 4:45.

  • Families with a last name beginning N-Z should come between 4:45 - 5:30pm.

  • Everyone 1st grade and older will need to be masked for this event regardless of vaccination status as there will be a lot of people in the building at the same time, and distinguishing vaccination status is a burden on the school. While we are overjoyed to have families back in the building, please do not come to Meet the Teacher if you are anyone in your household/close contact is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or had an exposure.

2021-22 School Hours:

As stated in the July Taking Flight newsletter from Mrs. Goldsworthy, school hours will be slightly different from last year. Detailed instructions will come in August. The school day still begins at 8am for all grade levels.

PreK-5th Grade: 3:00pm dismissal on Mon., Wed., Thurs., and Fri; 2pm dismissal on Tues. (PreK & Kinder will still dismiss on the north side/Hefner lot).

6th-8th Grade: 3:10pm dismissal on Mon., Wed., Thurs., and Fri; 2pm dismissal on Tues. If you have a middle school student to pick up, you should not enter the pick up line prior to 3:10pm on Mon., Wed., Thurs., and Fri.

School Supplies

Reminder that the school supply fee withdraws from FACTS on August 1st. The majority of your child’s school supplies have already been purchased and will be waiting for your student in their classroom. There are just a few items you are responsible for supplying. Please see the attached list for grade level supplies that families will need to purchase.

Uniforms

Do you have everything you need for uniforms? View the overview of our uniform policy here and check the handbook for more details. All students (K-8) will need regular and dress uniforms.

Don’t forget to Order your uniforms through Flynn O’Hara! Our uniform company gives 5% back to CSSE!

* Note: Flynn O’Hara has been experiencing delays in fulfilling orders, so do not wait until the last minute to order necessary items. The free PTO Uniform Exchange will be open on Meet the Teacher Night on August 9th, and you may take the items you need to start the school year. Items/sizes are limited.

Parish News

Looking for Families for the Vocare Chalice! Our church is blessed to have the Vocare Chalice Ministry, through which we pray for those called to serve the church through Vocations. Simply sign up with vocare@steugenes.org, let them know the mass you attend most often, and your family will be put on the rotation to take the Vocare Chalice home for a week at the end of your usual mass. The chalice comes with a prayer book to help guide your family. It’s a simple way to enhance your family’s spiritual life AND increase the number of men and women called to Holy Orders!

Please Pray For...

Pray for our staff, students and their families. May God grant us all patience and wisdom as we navigate the beginning of a new school year. Help us put our faith first and give grace to all.

Dear heavenly Father, as our children return to school, we look again to your eternal faithfulness. Watch over our beloved ones. Let your Spirit go before them to prepare the way and open the doors that lead to your grace. Guide them away from harm. May your mighty Spirit defend them from any aggression or attack. Equip them with discernment and strength of character. Inspire in them the appetite for the freedom to live and to learn as children of God. As their parents and caretakers, give us, dear Lord, the wisdom and patience to know when to speak or to be still. Always remembering that they are yours from the beginning, their lives a loving gift to us from You, Almighty God; we trust in You; we depend upon You. Care for your children. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.

The Eagle Express is reviewed by the principal prior to communication. Please submit all items to be considered for The Eagle Express by NOON on Thursday.
