PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Thank you so much for an AMAZING first week back to school! You and your kids are simply the best. Our staff was blown away by the level of support and compliance with all of our new rules and systems. We deeply appreciate your partnership during these unique times, and I can't tell you how proud I was to see the reciprocity in care and respect for the procedures and expectations in place that, when followed, keep everyone safe. As much as it means to me to know you and your students have peace of mind when coming to campus so that the focus on learning is as clear as it can be, it means equally as much that our staff has that same peace of mind, and your support in these new rules is a huge part of that. THANK YOU!
If you saw my joke about the drop-off and pick-up pop quiz in my last newsletter, GREAT NEWS! You passed with flying colors! I'm leaving the directions here again only because 1) Mondays are tricky and this is the first time our "A group" will be picking up on a Monday, and 2) I know reading it and then doing it in context are two different things, so you can reread and give yourself a huge pat on the back for being awesome.
Also, this week's at-school pattern is AABAB relative to Monday - Friday, so we won't see our B Sharks in-person until Wednesday. Thank you all for continuing to support at-home learning work on the at-home days.
Keep up the amazing work being the best parents ever, and please never hesitate to contact us if you need anything.
Thank you!
Amy Westberg, Principal
Because parents/visitors should not be on campus, please remember that if you are dropping off or meeting your children on foot (because you are walking or parking on the street and getting out of your car), it's best to meet them on the sidewalk along the campus-side of Camborne Way.
DROP-OFF:
Students will remain off-campus (in car, on sidewalk, etc.) until they hear the 7:40 bell.
After the 7:40 bell, students will go directly to their classroom (without parent escort, no before-school recess).
ALL Kindergarten & 1st grade students will go to their classrooms through the kindergarten playground gate (no parents beyond the gate and parents walking onto sidewalk for pick-up must keep the sidewalk area physically distanced for staff and students using that area for coming off/on campus. If your K/1st grader is unable to get out of the car by themselves at the drop-off loop in front of the office, you need to park and bring them to the sidewalk because you may not exit your car while in the drop-off lanes to assist children out of the car. There will be a staff member available to assist with a curbside door if needed. DO NOT EVER have your child exit the car from the driver's side of the car when the sidewalk is to your right.
For drop-off of only 3rd graders & younger: use office parking loop.
For drop-off with cars containing only 4th graders or older, use back parking lot loop.
PICK-UP
K/1st graders - same as above. Pick-up from office loop is preferred, and we will have a staff member assisting our littlest sharks as needed with curbside doors there.
2nd - 6th grade
Pick-up in office loop
MONDAYS: PM K/1, 2nd & 3rd graders and any of their older siblings
TUESDAY-FRIDAY: 2nd/3rd Graders and any of their older siblings
Pick-up in back parking lot loop
MONDAYS: 4th-6th graders without a K-3rd sibling
TUESDAY-FRIDAY: 4th-6th graders without a 2nd/3rd grade sibling
Parents may not come into the heart of campus to pick up children, but may plan a meeting spot at a sidewalk at the street-side sidewalk along Camborne Way.

Pictures will be taken in small groups to comply with all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Visit the Lifetouch website to learn more about our Picture Day Safety Protocols and watch a video of the new picture day procedures in action.
RVC Students ONLY:
Please come according to your last name on October 5th only. The library door facing the amphitheater will be the entrance for children taking photos. They will exit out the door facing the bus loop. The following groups are very small and will easily allow for physical distancing outside the library while waiting. The floor of the library will be marked with 6-feet distancing markings. Families who prefer to wait outside may do so. The school day for on-campus students in 2nd-6th grades ends at 1:20, so you will have that area of campus to yourselves.
