Principal's Message
Welcome the Class of 2023 to the Lincoln Newsletter! We will be including you on our newsletters for the remainder of this school year, just to introduce you to Lincoln! All incoming 6th grade families should have received my welcome letter via email earlier this week! We look forward to welcoming you aboard! Lincoln's preferred method of communication, even before COVID19, is via email.
Earlier today, I sent an email to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade families regarding our plan for locker clean out. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT PARENTS AND GUARDIANS READ THAT EMAIL. This will be quite an undertaking next week and your cooperation is vital to get this job done. Please read that email carefully and contact me with any concerns. The link to information regarding Locker Clean Out is also posted to the front page of the Lincoln website.
I know that families have so many questions about what the remainder of the school year will look like. Please rest assured that administration is working through all the procedures necessary to bring the remote school year to a close. From locker clean out, to Chromebook drop-off, to graduation, we know you are wondering . . . and we are planning! Your patience and confidence is so helpful and we ask that you check your email often and read communications carefully.
Here is a reminder to families of Dr. Aumiller's message: "We continue to distribute lunches between 11:30 and 1 on Mondays and Thursdays at Lincoln. Kids can enter through Door 1, adults do not need to come in the building. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might be in need during this challenging time."
As I have shared before, I am so proud to be a part of this school community. Students, families, teachers and all staff, have bravely moved forward into unknown territory and everyone is doing a great job! Hang in there as we take one day at a time.
Mr. Suminski
LINCOLN PTO . . . TO THE CLASS OF 2020
8th GRADE FAMILIES!
YOU WILL WANT TO READ THIS!
Hello 8th Grade Families, we hope you all are doing well and staying safe. Although it was not a surprise, hearing that schools will be closed through the end of the school year was disappointing. We know it is the right decision to ensure everyone remains safe during this unprecedented time, but it is still sad for everyone. We just wanted to let you know that the 8th Grade Activities committee is working on plans for alternate celebrations since the dance and picnic are cancelled. We are committed to making sure our graduates feel special and celebrated for this milestone in their educational journey.
The first item we have ready to roll out is the baby picture wall. Traditionally, parents send in photographs which are then displayed in the Lincoln Commons for a couple weeks prior to graduation. To keep this tradition going, we are going to create a baby picture video to share with the LMS community. We also would like to capture your child's favorite LMS memory and a staff shoutout. If you would like your child to participate, please fill out as much of the information on this Google Form as you'd like and submit by May 4. First names and last initials will be published. Note: your child will need to be present to fill in some of the information, but we are sending the form to parents so you can keep the baby picture a surprise, if you'd like. :) Thank you!
More alternate plan details will be coming soon. Please contact either Robyn McCluskey (gmcclusk@aol.com) or Laura Matuszak (matuszak.laura@gmail.com) with questions. Take care and stay healthy! - Your 8th Grade Activities Committee
PTO ACTIVITY FOR GRADES 6, 7, AND 8!
Photos, Please! Let’s Show our Lincoln Teachers and Staff Some Love
The Lincoln PTO will be putting together a slide show for school teachers and staff letting them know we miss them and appreciate all they do for students and families, especially during this challenging time.
Please participate by sending a photo (or photos if you’d like to submit more than one) of your family or Lincoln student holding a sign with a note of thanks or encouragement, sharing what your student misses about being at school, and/or a shout out to a specific individual. This is meant to be easy, heartfelt and fun. The more photos received the better.
Photos should be sent by the end of day on Friday, May 1 to Nicole Sasanuma at goldenivy@hotmail.com. Questions can be sent to Nicole at the same email address.
