THE HEART OF HOMESCHOOLING - RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR!
Sometimes the idea of a fresh new start (like the New Year) can help you remember your passion and reason for homeschooling. This new year, take time to write down some of the reasons why you decided to school at home in the first place. Give yourself and your student(s) time to slip back into your day to day routine, all while remembering that this CRAZY, amazing journey is well worth it.
2021 is full of possibilities and can bring new life into your homeschool routine. Whether you want to switch up your teaching style or simply bring in new activities or curriculum... now is the time to keep your student(s) motivated and encouraged to end this school year with a BANG!
So here's to a wonderful year full of imagination, exploring, and most importantly... learning alongside the ones we cherish most! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The mission of Mission Vista Academy is to develop the individual gifts of students in Riverside County and adjacent counties to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and innovative leaders prepared for academic and real-life achievement in the 21st Century. The mission will be accomplished through quality, personalized, standards-based education, which could include online coursework, offline textbook work, and unique hands-on and experiential learning experiences facilitated in partnership with students, parents, staff, and community.
Schoolwide Learner Outcomes
At Mission Vista Academy, we have goals for our students that are known as Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs). SLOs are a part of our school culture: they reflect our school vision, the College and Career Readiness Standards, and the education of the whole child.
Mission Vista Students Are:
Navigators of the Digital World – Navigators of the digital world who are proficient in the use of technology, media, and online resources.
Self-Directed – Self-directed and motivated students who are able to set attainable goals to achieve academic success.
Personalized Learners – Personalized learners who are able to thrive in the style of education that best fits their individual needs.
Independent Critical Thinkers – Independent critical thinkers who have the ability to problem-solve, take ownership, and apply their knowledge to a variety of problems.
Responsible Citizens – Responsible citizens who demonstrate integrity and respect while actively seeking knowledge of local and global issues.
Effective Communicators – Effective communicators who can thoughtfully articulate their thinking with confidence while collaborating with peers.
Thank you for partnering with us to achieve our goals!
Enrichment Returns or Exchanges
Families should not contact vendors directly to facilitate a return or exchange; the school should be notified and will handle all requests directly. If there is a problem with an Enrichment order and an item has arrived damaged or is defective, please contact your teacher.
If an item is no longer needed or wanted, it may be returned to the school but cannot be returned to the vendor for a refund. Please do not contact vendors directly to request a return or exchange. Thank you!

Come join the fun as we explore and learn together! More information and club schedules will be emailed to you by your HST on Mondays.

Spring Virtual Clubs!
Hello Mission Vista Academy Families,
We are jumping for joy to get our NEW Spring Club Hub out to you! We know you will find clubs that your children will enjoy as we come back from break. Our Clubs will be starting back up on January 13th. The clubs will be on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We are bringing back some of the students' favorites and offering new ones as well. Our Spring Clubs are amazing, and you will not want to miss out.
The clubs are all taught by our very own fabulous Mission Vista Teachers. You can come to one club or all the clubs. There are grade recommendations on some of the clubs, but please have your child come to the clubs they would benefit from and enjoy. If your 4th grader is working on writing a Thesis Statement, please have them join the Thesis Club. If your 2nd grader is working on beginning reading skills, please have them come to the Beginning Reading Club. Our teachers will be teaching Reading and Writing in a fun, interactive way.
Here are a few activities that will be offered in our Spring Club just to get our students excited!
Does your child want to dissect a cow eye or a frog, sew a monster wallet or a cuddly kitty, learn sports sign language, dive into a new novel with friends, cook bunny waffles, make snow dough, make edible cells, erupt rainbow volcanos, make a hydraulic powered machine, do an egg drop, explore landforms and geography around the world, and so much more? Then the Spring Clubs are just for them!
Our NEW Spring Club Hub has a short "How To" video embedded at that top. It is best to view the Spring Club Hub on a computer, but you can view it on a phone as well.
Club hub link will come to families through their HST via email (for student safety since it includes club zoom links).
If you have any questions, please feel free to email email@example.com.
We can't wait to "see" you all at our clubs in January.

Mission Vista Academy Family Liaisons
Hello! My name is Andrea Hart, and I am a homeschooling momma of two beautiful girls. Thanks to Mission Vista Academy, we have been homeschooling for 2 years and absolutely love the freedom and new learning experiences that it provides us daily. Homeschooling has changed our lives for the better, and I can’t wait to help other families learn, grow, and navigate through this extraordinary journey. I'm here to help encourage, guide, and answer any question you may have! I can’t wait to connect with you.
Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 12 to 8 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 18 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 8 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Mission Vista Academy, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!
We want to hear from you!
What do you want to hear more about? Drop us an email!
We'd love to answer all of your questions in regards to homeschooling
and learn more about what your homeschool lifestyle looks like!
Our goal is to provide you with the best homeschool program in Riverside County and San Bernardino County...so we want your feedback! If you have any comments, suggestions, or concerns, please let us know!
