September 6 - Grandparent's Day~Grandparents are invited to come to school from 9:00-10:00 to visit their grandchild's classroom. Teachers will have an activity for grandparents to do with their grandchild.

September 10 - Progress Reports Go Home

September 25- Club Choice Fundraiser Begins. Look for forms in backpacks on this day.

Attendance Matters

Your child's attendance is very important to the academic growth he/she will show over time. To encourage students to attend school we work very hard at building positive relationships with each child and try to make their time at school engaging and worthwhile. We will also be rewarding a class in each grade level with the best attendance at the end of each month. Each grade will have an attendance trophy to win and keep for the month. On the last Friday of the month the students that have attended school 97% of month will receive a treat.

How Can I Get Engaged Kids and Happy Teachers?

Insight into our Improvement Process:

Professional Learning Communities (PLC)

We are dedicated to improving our students' assessment performance. We know that working together will give us the most opportunity for success. This year we are excited to begin our PLC journey. A professional learning community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students. Before school began the our school leadership team developed our shared commitments for this school year. Now that school has begun, our K-4 teachers are meeting with the principal and assistant principal weekly to collaborate using these commitments as our guide. During this collaboration we look at student data from common assessments and student work samples, make intervention plans, determine the best strategies to help students learn, and much more. Teachers will continue the collaboration throughout the week when planning their lessons and interventions. The four questions focused on when planning units of study are:

  • What do we want students to learn?
  • How will we know when they’ve learned it?
  • How will we respond when students don’t learn?
  • How will we respond when students already know it?

These questions will ensure we are creating lessons that will help our students learn the skills needed to be successful. Below you can view an overview of the areas we will focus on to help improve performance in each of the district goals.
