- Skills: Character and Self-monitoring
- Phonics: short /a/ sounds and final /ck/
- Sight words: in, on, way
- Practice at home: Students should be able to read the decodable stories (sent home Tuesday) easily. If not, practice re-reading them daily for fluency and accuracy. Students should also be able to easily identify and read sight words.
Spelling
- See below for ways to practice spelling words
- Words this week: at, can, cat, back, dad, am, bat, mad, ran, sack
Math
- Continue Unit 1 - ordering and combining small numbers
- Quiz this week - counting objects up to 20 and telling what number is larger (using only small numbers)
- Practice at home: Writing numbers up to 30, especially facing numbers the right direction, telling what number is larger using numbers up to 20, and combining small numbers (such as rolling two dice and adding the total rolled)
Vocabulary
These words are used in English, math, or science we will learn throughout the week. Words are NOT tested, but will help understanding. Students are not expected to be able to spell these words.

- What makes a sentence? Identify if words are a complete sentence or not.

Library
Two library books can be checked out at a time and taken home. They need to be returned in two weeks. It is a good idea to keep them in the backpack and return daily so students can read in class. They will be encouraged to get books on or close to their reading level.

March - Pelican's Nest/Page and Palette
Walking trips:
Skating rinks (2 trips), Winn Dixie and Public Library, and City Hall
