"Educating the mind without educating the heart is like no education at all."--Aristotle
Our Path Note Topic
A child who has agency and self regulation. A child who will initiate and work toward learning and controling one's actions--manages impulsivity.
A child who has the skills to show up to school or work on time, and can work toward a common goal.
A child who can think with clarity and communicate that thinking with clarity.
A child that strives for accuracy. Not necessarily perfection, but checks to make sure of accuracy.
A child that creates and innovates. One who develops the ability to imagine.
A child that applies past knowledge to new situations.
A child that can resolve conflicts.
A child that can collaborate and work with others and understands perspectives.
These are just a few attributes of a whole child prepared for one's First Choice.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Julie McAllister. Julie is WASD's Admin Building's receptionist, switchboard operator and accounts payable person. Aside from doing her job well, she stays to keep doors open in the evening for meetings and interviews. She always greets people with a very calm and welcoming "hello". She helps out anyway she can, and still does her day job extremely well. She always goes above and beyond.
Congratulate Julie for being this week's Piece of the Puzzle!
Can you answer this?
Moving First Choice Ahead--Share with Tod
Beginning next week, a new challenge will be added to the Path Note. It will ask questions about First Choice and how it is being implemented into the classroom. The first elementary, middle and high school teachers to respond with an example of how it is being implemented in their classroom, will be given a "Moving First Choice Ahead" pin (an Arrow). Stay Tuned!!
