This weekend gave us a real Chicago winter snow! I hope you all successfully dug out from under it!
With the winter weather here, we came up with a new solution for students scanning in as they enter the school. Each student now has a tag attached to his/her backpack that we can scan at arrival. So, kids no longer need to take out their iPads to enter the building! This will hopefully keep those important learning tools out of the snow, rain, and cold this season!
We still have students arriving to school without masks - please double-check that your child is wearing a mask when you say goodbye to him/her before school each day.
A second reminder about Valentine's Day:
- We will not be having students exchange Valentines this year.
- We will not be having classroom "parties" with parent visitors and food/drink.
- Teachers may be having their class do a craft or activity in lieu of a "party".
I hope it will still be a fun day for all!
Finally, some parents have already reached out to me about class placement for next year. I wanted to let you know that the class placement process will begin in late March/early April, and you will receive a letter from me about it at that time! The team here will work very hard on behalf of your child to make the best possible grouping and placement for him/her next year, taking into account input from all sources. Keep an eye out for my letter in the first week of April!
That's all for now,
Take care and stay safe,
