Cameron Ranch Falcon Connection

February 28, 2021 #falconstrong

Falcon Families,

What does it mean to belong?

This month I've shared a book about Belonging, and it starts with belonging to yourself. I encourage you to read this book with your children and discuss what it feels like to belong, to feel connected to self and to those who help you rise-up and shine in the best possible way. It's my hope that we all feel a sense of belonging as a Falcon Family.

Cameron Ranch will participate in the annual Read Across America celebration this week. Please look for details from your child's teacher, and we encourage families to participate by posting to social media photos of your favorite books, or reading activities. Share by including our social media tags in the post (ie @CameronRanchFalcons for Instagram). Special guest readers include: Assemblyman Kevin McCarty, Soil Born Farms teacher training and school garden coordinator Shannon Hardwicke and SJUSD District Office staff. March is also Developmental Disability Awareness Month. We encourage all families to learn more about Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The annual CalTASH conference was highlighted at February's Special Education Community Advisory Committee meeting. Several staff members from Cameron Ranch will be attending this year's conference "Together for Justice, Inclusion & Community." This conference is also open to family and community members. Learn more about CalTASH here: www.caltash.org/annualconference

We also encourage families and students with disabilities to attend this month's SJUSD Special Education Family Check In Meetings. At the March meetings the director of LCAP will be seeking family and student input about return to in-person learning and summer programs. (see LCAP flyer below)

Congratulations
