DC Staff Update

14 February 2016

I'm grateful this week for...

A most restful Chinese New Year here in HK. I hope you all had an equally enjoyable break no matter where you happened to be.

There are 6 exciting weeks until Easter and the end of the term, which will include the Y8 and Y9 camps, House dodgeball, drama, debating and trivia competitions, Primary production of Oliver, DP Art Exhibition and the MYP Music Jazz Exhibition.

staffing update

Unfortunately the appointment of Ada Chen to one of the Chinese positions was unable to proceed due to visa issues. I am pleased to announce, however, that we have since appointed to both Chinese positions as well as finding a teacher for the Drama role. The new teachers are:

  • Sanny Yin and Danny Shih (MYP/DP Chinese)
  • Danielle Veilleux (MYP/DP Drama)

We did not appoint to the MYP Science/DP Chemistry position and this will be re-advertised closer to Easter.

Applications for the VP Primary position have closed, and those for the Y1 Team Leader role close on Friday this week.

preparing for the future of education

Just looked through an excellent SlideShare presentation this week, which challenges us to consider the literacies we should be teaching our students and how teachers, teaching and schools need to adapt.
