Adolphus Parents News You Can Use
2021-2022 Volume 2
Dear Bulldog Families,
Well, we not only survived the first week of school, but we thrived!
Thank you for your extreme patience with our lengthy car rider line. The surprise thunderstorm on Wednesday did not help, and neither did the lightning that required us to call for "rainy day" dismissal on Thursday. We were so impressed by the kindness and understanding from our parents. We appreciate you!
Below are some tips to help you avoid the long waits in the car rider line. Hopefully it will help.
We are looking forward to our BRIGHTEST year yet!

Principal
New Information
Car Rider Line
- Change your child's transportation to bus (if bus eligible)
- Change your child's transportation to walker and pick them up along Winston Ranch Parkway
Rainy Day
- For all walkers/bikers, you can have your child ride the bus on rainy day to avoid the lengthy wait.
- Below is a file of the procedures we follow on rainy days.
To make a permanent transportation change, simply send a written note in your student's daily folder. The teacher will send it to the office in their daily communication folder. You can also call the front office at 832-223-4700.
Remote Conferencing
Remote Conferencing will begin on Monday. This is for students that meet the eligibility to participate remotely for short-term due to medical issues like COVID or close contact. A student is only eligible for up to 20 days of remote conferencing during this school year.
Per the Commissioner’s FAQs on Remote Conferencing, students will be eligible if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
- The student’s temporary medical condition is documented by a physician licensed to practice in the United States. The documentation must include a statement from the physician that the student is to remain confined to their home or to a hospital.
- The student has a positive test result for a communicable condition listed in 25 TAC §97.7.
- The student has been identified as having been in close contact with COVID-19.
Parents will be asked to notify the school nurse if their child will either be isolated due to contracting COVID-19 or will be quarantined due to close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
Students that return after their remote learning period due to isolation or quarantine will report to the front office.
Morning Arrival
We open the doors by 7:00 AM. When your child enters the doors, they follow these procedures:
- PK go to the café (whether eating or not)
- Kindergarten go to Pod G
- 1st grade go to Pod B
- 2nd - 5th grades go to the gym
- Students that need to eat breakfast at school, go directly to the café
Please ensure your child has a book in their backpack for independent reading in the morning.
Remind your children where to go in the morning until they get comfortable with the procedures above. :-)
Bulldog Basics Parent Night
The sessions have been spread out so that you can attend a session for each of your children. Session 1 & 2 will be the same presentations, so you only need to attend one or the other.
School t-shirts and PTO spirit wear will be sold too!
We hope to see you next week.

Repeated Information
Drop Off and Pick Up
You are permitted to park in the lot and walk your child all the way across the crosswalk at the front door, but this typically is not faster. Please do not cross anywhere other than at the crosswalk for safety purposes.
Please do not under any circumstances:
- drop your child off in the parking lot
- send your child across the crosswalk alone
Please help us keep your child(ren) safe by following these guidelines.
Also...for everyone's benefit, please turn right when exiting the school parking lot. This is much safer and helps the flow of traffic.

Set Your Child up for Success!
The students need to be through the front doors by 7:30 in order to not be counted tardy. If you arrive at 7:30 or after, your child will need to enter the main doors of the school to go through the front office to get their tardy slip. That is never a fun way to start their day, so please help get them to school ready for learning by 7:20 AM. :-)
All students in their seats will receive either a Bulldog Buck or Dojo point as an incentive to arrive at this time.

Below is a file explaining Smart Tag in detail.
Change in Transportation
We ask that you do this on rare occasions only to help prevent mix-ups in how a student goes home. Students love consistency, so please help provide that to them as best as possible.
