Mass Reflections
Today in Mass, Father Suji was talking about ashes and how it symbolizes our sins and repentance. Father explained how we are preparing for spring and Easter. During Lent we give alms, say prayers, and fast. We sacrifice something of our life to get closer to the suffering Jesus went through for us.
Ally, 6th Grade
At Mass, Father Suji talked about Lent. Father began by talking about what the ashes mean. They are recognizing our sins and repentance. He also talked about preparing for spring and Easter, about renewal and life. Father said that during Lent we give alms, we pray, fast, and make sacrifices. In the end, we rejoice because Jesus has risen.
Declan, 6th Grade
In today’s Mass, the scripture reading is about the beginning of Lent and how the people start fasting, praying, and giving alms. Jesus said we should not show off our prayers and sacrifices to show everyone you are being good. When in reality Jesus says you should do those things in private where the Father will reward you.

upcoming survey
Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Administrators,
Your school values and needs input from the community!
In the coming weeks, you will receive a link to the School Culture 360™ Survey that has been developed by researchers at the Institute for Education Policy at Johns Hopkins University. Each year, it is critical for school leaders to have reliable data to assess their school environments. This survey can identify areas for celebration, areas for growth, and disconnects between different groups of participants.
The aspects of school culture this survey measures are:
· School Climate - Characteristics of the school environment that foster academic achievement and positive interpersonal relationships
· Academic Climate - Characteristics of the learning environment that promote high expectations, teacher support of student learning, and peer support of student learning
· Civic Open Classroom Climate - The routine experience of deliberation and viewpoint diversity
· School Mission and Vision - The stakeholders’ beliefs about the school’s commitments and values
These areas have been linked to various student outcomes, including academic achievement and civic preparation. A summary of research about these domains is available upon request.
While parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and students in Grades 4 to 12 take the survey, not all these groups will answer all components.
This survey is completely anonymous and will be used for secondary research. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary; there are no penalties for not participating.
Please keep an eye out for the survey link that will be sent by an administrator at your school. By sharing your thoughts about your school’s environment, you will provide useful insights that may otherwise go unnoticed. Thank you so much for your help.

Gospel Reading this Sunday
to be tempted by the devil.
He fasted for forty days and forty nights,
and afterwards he was hungry.
The tempter approached and said to him,
"If you are the Son of God,
command that these stones become loaves of bread."
He said in reply,
"It is written:
One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth
from the mouth of God."
Then the devil took him to the holy city,
and made him stand on the parapet of the temple,
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down.
For it is written:
He will command his angels concerning you
and with their hands they will support you,
lest you dash your foot against a stone."
Jesus answered him,
"Again it is written,
You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test."
Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain,
and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,
and he said to him, "All these I shall give to you,
if you will prostrate yourself and worship me."
At this, Jesus said to him,
"Get away, Satan!
It is written:
The Lord, your God, shall you worship
and him alone shall you serve."
Then the devil left him and, behold,
angels came and ministered to him.
