LEAP for Education is Hiring for Summer Work
Need a summer job? LEAP for Education is hiring for the 2023 Summer Work Program! High school students (ages 14-19) can apply for the 6-week paid position as a Summer Work Program Associate to gain early job experience, professional career mentoring, and building career readiness skills. See the flyer for more information!

Heppner's 3 goals help Salem girls lacrosse wins first game
Salem 8, Whittier 3: The Witches won their first game of the season on Senior Night as Kate Heppner scored three goals and goalie Mari Diaz was excellent in net with a dozen saves. Arenne Kenney, Neely Harrington, Jestiny Torres, Samantha Agno, and Whitey New all had solo goals as well for Salem.

Finalize post secondary plans and applications. If you are still unsure of next steps, make an appointment with your counselor ASAP or use Tuesday/Thursday crew to drop in office hours.
Use Naviance to add any outstanding paperwork needed for schools with late January to early March deadlines.
Use Naviance to navigate and begin applying to scholarships.
Organize the remainder of your year and identify any areas you need help with to ensure you graduate on time.

Juniors
In school SATs will be on April 25th - start preparation by looking into College Board SAT Preparation. Khan Academy creates a comprehensive and individualized plan to begin studying for free.
Begin preparing for your post secondary plan. One resource is BigFuture from the College Board. Create an account and begin building your college list.
Check your schedule for next semester and make an appointment with your counselor if you have any blanks or want to change any class.
Start putting a plan together for classes you want to take next year. Remember, colleges want to see rigorous coursework in your senior year. Consider a challenging course in a subject you are interested in that fits your career plans.
