Effects of type II diabetes and risks for developing it
Type two diabetes is something that happens OVERTIME, this is why it’s different from type one because it happens overtime and it effects adults
risks: overweight, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, family history of diabetes, "too much fat, not enough fiber, and too many simple carbohydrates" all contribute to diagnosis, and high triglyceride levels
- Heart attacks and strokes due to clogged blood vessels
- Untreated, it hamper the kidneys’ ability to filter waste products because it causes them to work harder to filter the large amounts of blood brought from high blood-sugar levels. Vision problems because of vessel damage around the eyes, foot problems due to poor circulation
- If you don’t take care of yourself when you are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, you can develop skin disorders because of lack adequate blood flow throughout the body oral problems due to diabetes cause of dry mouth
"a sedentary lifestyle is damaging to health and bears responsibility for the growing obesity problems." Inactivity and being overweight go hand in hand towards a diagnosis of type 2. (muscle cells have more insulin receptors than fat cells, so a person can decrease insulin resistance by exercising. Being more active also lowers blood sugar levels by helping insulin to be more effective.)
