6th graders practiced their keyboarding skills this week and used typingtraining.com for the last time in class. They put some of their Microsoft Word skills to work making shape typing activities. While it was challenging for some 6th graders, most said it was fun!
All computer students ended their week with Geoguessr.com Famous Places. Next week they will #makeitreal with making magazine covers depicting why they are famous. This is an enjoyable goal-setting activity for all.
The 2017-18 Tech Interns continue to impress everyone with their creativity and work ethic as they train to take over in that role for next year at FMS.

You may have heard them practicing around the house! Come and see the real thing at 7pm in the FMS Gym!
Remember to arrive in the choir room by 6:20pm for our joint practice with Hornet Pride!
We are continuing to work on our music literacy as we are sight-reading daily! Ask your student all about it...it's a game...it's a puzzle...it's FUN! :)

This week the STUDENTS ARE THE TEACHER! They get to share their artist presentations with the class, and teach us about one of their favorite artists!
CAREERS:
We are practicing the application processes for college and jobs! Students are learning about the expectations of applying to both, and then will write an explanation of their plans for after they finish high school. We will have the opportunity to have some practice interview where students get to experience a job or college interview firsthand!
Many thanks to the volunteers who have visited our classroom, and the businesses that have hosted us! This MAKES IT REAL for our students!

8th Graders are continuing on the Altered Book project.
I will be conducting the final book check this week, and the final due date will be on the 12th of May.
Several Students are coming along great, and some students need to kick it up a notch, but overall these are shaping up. We have had to pause a few days here and there, so it is going to come down to the wire with some of these.
Students have learned the value of safety in the classroom and have done an amazing job learning the value of materials and being resourceful. I am pretty proud of this group!
