Streets, Art, SAFE is a unique hands-on competition for high school students interested in film-making, mentored by Hollywood filmmakers. Students are invited to create 30 second public service announcements about traffic safety issues. Experienced filmmakers -- directors, producers, cinematographers, etc. -- help to mentor the students and improve their skills.
In Los Angeles, traffic collisions are the #1 killer of our youth, aged 4 - 14. This program aims to educate and empower students to do something about it through creative, fun, artistic, and impactful visual storytelling.
Winning teams receive prizes and their pieces played on TV. For a look at some wonderful creativity during 2021, check out some of the winning entries here.
