Glover Gazette
September 8, 2023
Hi Glover Families:
Now that the school year is underway, we are looking forward to our Open House this Thursday, September 14th from 5:30-6:30PM. This is a child free event and gives you the opportunity to see your child's classroom and learn about the curriculum for their grade level. This evening gives you a glimpse into your child's day.
The schedule is as follows:
5:30-6:00PM Principal Doran/Teacher introductions and PTO information in the cafeteria
6:00-6:30 PM
Pre-K Parents/Guardians can move to Pre-K classrooms
Kindergarten Parents/Guardians can stay in the cafeteria for a special Kindergarten Presentation
Grade 1 Parents/Guardians can go to the library to meet with First Grade Teachers.
Grade 2 and 3 Parents/Guardians may proceed to classrooms.
Arrival/ Dismissal Reminders:
The parking lot is for school staff. If you have a handicap placard, you may use the designated handicapped spots. Please place your car placard with your child's last name in a visible spot as it helps school staff to assist children and helps to make the line move along faster.
Breakfast:
If your child would like breakfast, this starts in the cafeteria at 7:45. You do not have to sign up for breakfast. If your child is going to join us for breakfast, they may enter the front door at 7:45 AM. Please do not drop off you child until 7:45 for breakfast as there is not adult supervision until that time.
Thank you for sharing your children with us. It was wonderful to see their smiling faces back at school this week.
Best,
Hope Doran CAGS
Principal

Volunteering at Glover
We welcome parent volunteers at Glover. The requirements for chaperoning field trips and for volunteering in the classroom include having a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and Fingerprinting.
The CORI process is a multi step process:
1. The potential volunteer goes to the DISTRICT WEBSITE to begin the process of requesting a background check and makes an appt. for fingerprints if applicable.
2. Click on and complete the 2 page Google Form below.
3. The potential volunteer submits the application with a copy of a valid license.
4. Then the submission for the CORI occurs
5. The CORI approval can then take some time to be approved (this time varies)
If potential volunteers and district administrators are able to respond promptly and fingerprinting appointments are completed in a timely manner, the process takes about 3 weeks. That said, if there is a delay in any one of these steps, it can take longer. So if parents are interested in volunteering or chaperoning any time this year, it would be wise to go through the CORI process as soon as possible.
**CORI is good for 3 years. Some of our third grade parents who have been volunteering, and are interested in volunteering this year, and may need to be updated.
