Book Fair Volunteers
The Scholastic Book Fair is fast approaching and we would love your help. There are two ways to help: Decorating and Book Fair Set Up and Sales.
If you are interesting in helping with decorations please email Mrs. Garavaglia and let her know.
If you would like to volunteer during the book fair, please click here. We will need volunteers:
- November 6th and 7th (During the day): Book Fair Set Up
- November 7th (5pm-8pm): Book Fair Sales (Multicultural Night)
- November 8th, 9th, and 10th (During the day): Student Preview
- November 13th- 17th (During the day): Book Fair Sales
- November 14th (5:30pm-7:30pm): Book Fair Sales

Weekly Homework
Reading Homework
Have your child:
- Identify the characters, setting, & important events.
- Explain a connection to the story (example: This story reminds me of ____ .)
Math Homework
Monday - Practice putting the number cards in order (card available for printing further below). Mix up number cards. Place cards in order from 0 - 20. Player one will cover his/ her eyes while player 2 takes a card away. Player one should identify the number/ card that is missing. Repeat.
Tuesday - Practice identifying "one more & one less". Mix up number cards. Place cards in order from 0 - 20. Player one will choose a number card. Player two should identify the number that is one more & one less. Repeat.
Wednesday - Practice decomposing. Using number cards 1 - 10, draw a card, read the number, create a set of objects to match the number, break the objects into two groups (decompose). Repeat with other numbers.
Example:
8 objects
4 and 4 make 8
3 and 5 make 8
Thursday - Play "Rally Robin". Both players will practice counting by tens to one hundred using Rally Robin game. Player 1 says a number, player 2 says the next number, player 1 says next number, player 2 says the next number, etc. Repeat until counting by tens is complete.
Friday - No homework. Have a great weekend!
