Outstanding Teachers

We have amazing teachers at Pizitz, and we are grateful for the work they do every day. Throughout the year, we have a few opportunities to recognize some of our teachers in special ways. Through two different processes, teachers and staff are able to nominate both a Rotary Teacher of the Year and a Teacher of the Year. Earlier this semester, Kim Hunton was nominated by her peers as Rotary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Hunton is a Spanish teacher and dance team sponsor at Pizitz. This honor is given to someone who is seen as an unsung hero- working hard and providing support for students and staff in a variety of ways. Kim, we are grateful to have you on our team. You represent us well!

Just last week, our teachers were able to nominate a teacher to serve as Pizitz Teacher of the Year. Following the nomination process, a committee gathers to review the nominations and determine the person who exhibits a consistency in strong instructional practices coupled with building strong relationships with students. We are proud to share that Jill Wiggins has accepted her nomination as Pizitz Teacher of the Year. Currently, Mrs. Wiggins serves as an 8th grade English Language Arts Teacher, a study hall teacher, and our teacher for digital and media print. Jill is a strong collaborator, a creative thinker, and an advocate for student learning. She always seeks to go the extra mile to help meet students' needs. We are proud of you, Mrs. Wiggins!
