Seco Scoop
Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- August 30, 2019
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
It's hard to believe that we've already completed our third week of school! Our first progress reporting period ends on Friday, September 13, marking the halfway point of the first quarter.
Parents, we need your help in reminding your children NOT to cut through the parking lot to get to and from the school buses. This is a safety concern with the number of cars and blind spots in the lot. Please help us remind them to stay on the sidewalk on either side of the parking lot when going to or from the buses. If your child rides a bike, scooter, or skateboard to school, please ensure they are wearing a helmet, in accordance with California law, and encourage them to lock up their items in our bike rack area.
Please note that Thursday, September 5, is a minimum day with dismissal at 11:35 am -- Back to School Night is later that same evening (please see below for more information). For the minimum day, please work with your students on a plan of where they will be and what they will be doing after school on these days. Keep in mind that local businesses are not supervised by school personnel. As always, thank you for encouraging your children to be respectful of our neighbors' properties, as well as our local businesses.
There is no school this Monday, September 2, due to Labor Day. Have a great 3 day weekend!

Students should have brought home a form to fill in their schedules – please see below. The evening ends at 7:45 pm. The library will be open at 5:30 for you to view displays and get help setting up a new IC account, if needed. We look forward to seeing you Thursday night!
Clash for Cash/ASB
Our annual Clash for Cash fundraiser will run until September 12th. Students can donate online through the pledgestar website or bring in cash/check donations every morning to the ASB window. This year, our hope is to raise enough funds to replace our sound equipment in K-Hall. Thank you for your support!
Our first dance of the year is coming up on September 13th. Tickets are currently on sale for $10. Ticket prices will increase to $15 on the 5th. Tickets include DJ, photo booth, carnival games, and food. Tickets will be sold until the 11th, or until we sell out. Act now!
