The Great Depression
During the Great Depression many people were losing hope in living/surviving. The economy had been so bad causing people to lose their jobs. Eventually then losing their houses, or not being able to provide for either themselves or their family. The Great Depression really took a big toll in many peoples lives. This picture shows that there's going to be a music show at the theater. Songs during this time really amped up peoples want to live on and that there is hope! The songs would use their lyrics to really convey a story of what the Great Depression has caused, that life still goes on, and that there is hope that things will get better.
The Dust Bowl
In this picture shows people gathered around, the people are considered migrant workers because of moving from one place to another and working. These people were the voices around the country to tell their personal or non experiences being in the dust bowl and/or how their lives had been affected by it.
Migrant Workers
This picture shows migrant workers with their children and family on railroad tracks. These people lost their homes and now their on the roads with all of their supplies and belongings. This shows the struggle that migrant workers had to endure because of losing things that were very important in their daily needs life.
Mental Retardation
One of the main causes of these mental illnesses was alcohol and drug use. This picture shows that alcohol is very dangerous. These mental illnesses caused less productivity in the country, which was actually scientifically proven true. Less productivity meaning people not being able to work, and difficulty of living. Also causing much unemployment within the country.
The Plight of America from 1929-1940
This graph shows the change of the economy based on the average income of each American. As you can see the graph really exaggerates on how low the income was during the years of the Great Depression and when the banks closed.
