Segregation Of Halsted Boycott
Equality should be EVERYWHERE
Let's take that first step !
*Aren't you sick of having to have your own area to be open about who you are? The Segregation of the Gay's on Halstead steet is a repeat of what happened with Blacks and whites. This instance was ended up a long time ago and should not have been brought back just because some people are uncomfortable with the way you choose to live your life. Come out and walk the streets of Chicago to stand up for who you are and what you truly beleve in. EQUALITY. No one should be confined to expressing who they are on one street.
*Boycott Director: Jordan McCarty
Hello, my name is Jordan McCarty and i myself am not gay but I believe in all the equal rights of a person. No person should be judged because of who they decide to fall in love with. No Person can control who they have feelings for or who they want to spend the rest of their lives with. Every other person in the world is allowed to express who they are in public, so why shouldn't the homosexuals as well? This is the first step to show people that you don't care that people don't like who you are and that you are going to just that wherever you go!
Need a little more ?
This walk is going to need every last person it can get. No one can truly understand what it is like to be pushed to a single area because they aren't accepted. The Gays are just like everyone else, and there is no reason that they should have to keep their true being toa single area and not everywhere they go. The fact that Chicago, Illinois thinks that the gays need to be "caged" is repulsing. Anyone and everyone should be able to walk around hand in hand with the one they love without being judged. Not even if that hand is being held by a person of the same sex. This walk is meant to show the city of Chicago that the gays do still exist and that they are going to be everywhere and that they are not going to be confined to one area but instead they are going to be everywhere because they are people as well.
HIGH HOPES!
Through this whole this thing we hope to make it so the people in the real world will be okay with walking in the same area and get them to fianlly accept that they gays aren't going anywhere and will always exist.
