A Message from Roynon's Principal
It is hard to believe we are already in the last trimester of the school year. As I am writing this, I have been reflecting upon the 30 weeks of school that have made up the 2017-18 school year so far and anticipating the excitement that the next nine weeks of school will bring! Our students and staff have much to be proud of and many reasons to finish strong. Please plan on attending our Open House the evening of May 24th to celebrate your child's success.
I would like to personally thank each and every one of you who supported PTA's first annual Roynon Raccoon Run. The day was a huge success. We could not have done it without the parent volunteers who helped plan the event and those that came out to help on the day of the Run. Over $35,000 has been raised so far from this wonderful event to support field trips, assemblies, and technology here at Roynon. We received many positive comments about the day from students, staff, and parents and look forward to our second Roynon Raccoon Run next year! This Friday, April 13th, is the last day for students to turn in donations to be counted towards student prizes. Donations can be dropped off in the office or made online at https://99pledges.com/fund/roynonraccoonrun2018.
Looking ahead, our annual PTA's Mother/Son Night, the Mother/Son Sock Hop, is scheduled for this Friday, April 13th. Next week members of our staff will be serving up food at McDonalds on Wednesday, April 18th from 4-8pm. Come visit us. Staff Appreciation Week will be celebrated at Roynon during the week of April 31 - May 4, followed by our California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, CAASPP, for grades 3 - 5, during the weeks of May 7 - 19.
More information can be found below regarding our CAASPP testing. It is very important that students in 3rd - 5th grade make every attempt to be at school and on time each day of testing. If you are interested in seeing samples of the test or having your child practice at home, please click on the practice link found below.
Our Roynon Yearbook is currently in its final stages. If you have any pictures that you would like to share with the yearbook advisor, Ms. Lopez, for consideration in the yearbook, please email them to RoynonYearbook@gmail.com by Wednesday, April 18th. Please include your child's grade and the grade of any other students in the photo.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we can ensure that every child at Roynon is successful.
With gratitude,
Tammi DiGrazia
Roynon Principal
