OC Summer Library Reading Program
This is a fabulous resource for the students this summer. The OC Library always does a great reading program to help kids grow their brains during the summer months.
This year it is an online reading program...registration begins June 15th
As always, the child will receive a FREE book, this is something they can choose online, and the library will mail it to them.
There are three different challenge's to choose from :-
1. Daily reading challenge ( younger students)
2. Book Badge challenge ( older students)
3. Design your own summer reading goal
There are many prizes available, including $25 gift cards to local merchants, Menchies, Games & Geeks etc.
ALL the info is on the public library website!
Many families are asking for resources to talk to their children about race and racism. In addition to white families wanting to raise own children to be anti-racist, it is important for LatinX families to also confront anti-black bias in our community. I hope these resources are helpful to you not only now, but as your child continues to grow.
Summer Virtual Family Focus Series
Family Focus Forum and the Oregon City School District are bringing a special series of virtual sessions to our community during the summer. We have designed a special series for parents, caregivers and supporters of children in our schools. We have invited inspiring speakers who care about families, understand the struggles we are facing, and celebrate the resilience you have shown as a community. We want to offer our OCSD community our support as we prepare for the times ahead! For more information visit:

Important Information Regarding Report Cards
On May 26th, you should have received an email from OCSD with directions on how to set up your ParentVUE account. You must set up an account this year to view your child's report card. Report cards will be available starting June 20th. ParentVUE has been widely used by our secondary schools and is now newly available for elementary families. This will be the system you use to complete your student's verification, update emergency contact information, and review required forms from your home computer or a computer based at the school office.
All Oregon schools were closed from March 16, 2020, through the end of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, the instruction was delivered per the Oregon Department of Education’s “Distance Learning for All” guidance. ‘P’ for Pass or ‘I’ for Incomplete were used for Spring. No child shall be held back or retained due to any impacts of extended school closure. Please contact your student’s teacher or principal if you have additional questions on distance learning and grading.
