Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat
More commonly known as the wombat.
They have... strong nails (burrowing), short and soft brownish fur, a broad nose that looks like a pig's snout, short and powerful stubby legs, pouches to carry their young (marsupials).
Adults can be as long at 75 inches and weigh up to 90 pounds. They are nocturnal animals that live in burrows by day and when they come out at night they feed on grasses (herbivores; black spear grass, bottle washer grasses, golden beard grass, and three-awned grass).

Northern Hairy nosed wombats reach sexual maturity at (females) 2.5 years (males) 3 years. Females can usually have one baby every year if it has been a good year. They have babies between November and April. There is only one group left of Northern Hairy Nosed Wombats. They are located in Australia in the areas shown below.

Wild dogs (dingoes) kill Northern hairy nosed wombats, droughts that lower breeding rates because the lack of food (grasses), competition for food among herbivores, wildfires that sweep the ground, lack of genetic variation from having a small population. These animals are currently being protected by a fence to keep out dingoes. These animals are being protected not hunted.
