ACADEMICS TEAM INFORMATIONAL FLYER
Our Lady of Fatima Catholic school follows the current Texas Education Agency guidelines as per the TEKS (Texas Education Knowledge and Skills) and the CSO (Catholic Schools Office) curriculum guides which include the TEKS requirements and the IOWA basic skills assessment.
The following are implemented along with the TEKS and CSO curriculum:
Reading/Language Arts:
Kindergarten- 4th: Journeys program.
5th grade: Voyagers program.
Middle School grades 6th-8th grades: Novel units.
Grammar and Spelling workbooks are also used.
Math:
Kindergarten-8th grades: Go Math.
3rd-5th grades: STEMscopes for Math plus Go Math.
Science: PreK3-8th grades: STEMscopes for Science.
Social Studies: Kindergarten-8th grades: Horizon Harcourt and Glencoe textbooks.
Religion: Pre-K3-8th grades: Finding God which is the school version of the program followed by St. Mary’s Faith Formation.
RenWeb: Online student information, school registration, school-wide emails, nurse visit documentation and student grades.
Guidance: PreK3-8th grades: Growing in Love guidance program.
Technology/Strategies: PreK3-8th grades: IXL Learning, BrainPOP, PRODIGY, Sheppard software, & PBS kids. LEAD4WARD teacher strategies are used daily to increase rigor and critical thinking skills in students.
YAG (Year at a Glance) Guide: Provides teachers a pacing schedule per subject.
Curriculum Guides: Teachers are provided with the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese Curriculum Guides for subjects and grade levels. These guides are used in conjunction with the Texas TEKS. Course objectives, curriculum book resources, and supplemental resources are also used.
