Weekly Update 3/26/21

Face-to-Face & Virtual Families

TMSE Pledge & Essential Agreements

Today I pledge to be a critical thinker. I will be principled and demonstrate integrity with my actions and my words. I will be a caring person and always treat others with respect.

Essential Agreements

★I will strive to show the Learner Profile in my actions in and out of the classroom.

★I will embrace the attitudes of an IB learner at all times.

★I will work to make the world around me a better place.

SAFETY

Child safety is critically important!

  • Students must not be dropped off in the parking lot. You must park your car and accompany your child across the crosswalk.
  • You must accompany your child into the school if there are no TMS teachers on duty outside.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping all of our students safe.

3rd nine weeks report cards

All in-person students will bring report cards home today, March 26, 2021. Full-time virtual students' report cards will also be mailed today.

Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (Grades 2-5)

It is time for our students to celebrate their knowledge. During the month of April, all students in grades 2 through 5 will be taking the ACAP (Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program) Summative test. Students will be assessed in reading/language arts/writing, math, and science (4th grade ONLY). Your child's teacher will let you know the dates and subjects for when their class will be testing.

2nd grade students will test only to establish a baseline to measure student growth during their third-grade year. The second graders' test results will not be used to measure second-grade achievement or for accountability purposes.

A few testing tips:

-Go to bed earlier than normal to ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep.

-Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast. We will still be serving breakfast in the cafeteria.

-Take your time during the test, read carefully, and double-check your work.

We know all of our students are going to ROCK these tests. We are so proud of all of their hard work this year, and now it is time for them to show what they know!
