Team Meadow Update
April 26, 2020
Team Meadow-
I hope you had a good weekend.
A few items to note:
- We've had a request to move staff meetings to Fridays since it holds a little more flexibility. For this week, let's go ahead and move our upcoming staff meeting to Friday, May 1st @ 2:00. In addition, our following staff meeting to be held on Friday, May 14th @ 10:00 AM. I will send invites so these are blocked on your calendar.
- Feel free to include Family Input Survey links and supply order information in your class updates. Information is located below.
- Supplies & ordering - Certified staff should refer to Barb's email she sent regarding upcoming supply orders. Although ordering isn't fluid and occurring just yet, you can go ahead, start your list, or even drop items in your Staples shopping cart.
- Online Book Fair will continue through this coming week. Please note that we do not want to promote this as a fund raiser. We must be cognizant of the fact that many families are in trying times and we are simply providing the service for families should they opt to order books for their children/families. (more info below)
- Thanks to those of you that assisted in compiling thoughts and words for our Blue Ribbon application. Thanks to Lauren for composing a few last sections as I input all the data and narratives on the USDOE Blue Ribbon portal. We have one remaining portion to get completed and uploaded, then I can press "submit". I hope to get final submission in tomorrow, which will be three whole days before the due date! (deep sigh)
Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you for the amazing work you're continuing to do for our students!
With much respect and admiration for the incredible humans you are,
Tom
The INSIDER
You Are Creative
Hello, ZCS Colleagues:
Creativity is very evident in the ways that school pros are making strong linkages through instruction, communications, interventions, and more. Teachers’ relationship-building genes have been newly translated through this online medium, and the results for students are very good. Thank you for all of that creativity so well invested. I suspect you’ve seen it paid back in the work and work-arounds of many students.
There are important things to know in the INSIDER items below. Thanks for dropping in. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Scott Robison
How Are You Feeling? -
- The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) remains available as a resource for ALL employees during the COVID-19 outbreak. The uncertainty and anxiety created by this crisis can impact the ability to function personally and professionally. EAP staff are available for telephone consultations about coping ideas and stress management tools. They are currently offering virtual appointments. Please call EAP at 317-338-4900 to schedule an appointment. More information regarding the EAP services can be found here. #zcsstrong
Capturing Your Creativity
Let's capture and share your creativity. Seeing your ingenuity is inspiring. Please help me collect work that is happening around the district to share about teachers and students collaborating in this new learning environment that the virus has forced us into without much notice. You are doing amazing things. If you can share an mp4 or any photos of the great things happening, please forward to Janet Mann at jmann@zcs.k12.in.us.
Family Input Survey
Simply an FYI of what was communicated with BME Families.
Dear Boone Meadow Families,
Thank you for taking time to provide feedback regarding your child's learning experience. Your input provides us the opportunity to reflect on our strengths and areas to strengthen. We readily admit that we, as a staff, must always strive to grow in our work and practices.
Please note:
- Our staff is committed to continuity in relationship with students and families whenever possible. In doing so, we believe we can serve students and families better. Therefore, it is our goal for students to remain with their classroom teacher for more than one year when possible.
- For the upcoming 2020-21 school year, we plan to continue a looping model with 1st grade to 2nd grade. Likewise, we desire to do the same with 3rd grade to 4th grade. Please note: As enrollment changes or other placement needs must be considered, continued placements are not guaranteed.
- Please, do not include requests for specific teachers.
Should you desire to share input and feedback, please complete the survey by Monday, May 18th. This will allow us the opportunity to adequately review your input before the end of the school year.
