Stetson Hills School Information and Upcoming Events

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

February has been full of fun and learning! We had an amazing guest speaker, Katey McPherson, who spoke to parents, students, and staff about technology and social media use in today's youth. We also had fun spirit weeks, Halo Animal Rescue Drive, St. Mary's Food Bank Drive, fun Valentine's activities and parties, and much more!

Our amazing PTSA was also able to purchase brand new furniture for our library through Step It Up funds. This is all because of our amazing families and the contributions you made to our fundraiser. So THANK YOU to everyone! The furniture is beautiful and the students and staff love it!

With Stallion Pride,

Mrs. Dyer-Hurdon

Principal

For PLC work, teachers will engage in the creation of extension and enrichment opportunities for students who have already mastered standards. Teams are also working collaboratively on team goals that were set in February based on student data. Upcoming State Assessment Information

State assessments are quickly approaching! We would like to share with you important information regarding Arizona State Assessments for the 2022-2023 school year. All 3rd-8th grade students will be assessed for writing, reading (ELA), and math. 5th graders and 8th graders will also be tested in the area of science. 3rd graders will be assessed in the area of oral reading fluency.

Please make every effort possible to not schedule your child doctor's appointments during the school day on testing days, and please try not to pull your student out of school early or during lunch. If students arrive late to school on a testing day, the office will need to see if the student can complete the assessment that day or be placed in an alternate location if testing has already begun.

PTSA Updates

Mother Son Night was a blast! Thank you to everyone that attended!

PTSA is now accepting donations for our All In Auction in April. If you are a business owner or some one who is and would like to make a donation please reach out to Nadda Blair or Melanie West.

Tax Credits!

Did you know that contributions made to a public school from January 1 to April 15 may be used as a tax credit on the prior year's tax return? For example, qualifying contributions made to a public school January 1, 2023 to April 15, 2023 may be used as a tax credit on either your 2022 or 2023 Arizona income tax return.

If you'd like to make a school tax credit donation, use one of the following options:

1. Donate online through this LINK.

2. Mail to the school at 25475 N. Stetson Hills Loop, Phoenix, AZ 85083

3. Drop off directly at Stetson Hills

Parking Lot Reminders

Thank you for continuing to follow traffic procedures put in place in order to keep our students and staff safe. A few reminders this month:

  • Please continue to pull ALL the way forward once you have picked up your child. If you merge into the 2nd lane, make sure your car will completely fit into the other lane, as to not impede traffic. If you are impeding traffic, please pull all the way forward in the lane you were originally in and merge near the exit of the parking lot instead. This will significantly increase the number of cars that can fit in behind you, reducing our overall dismissal time.
  • School zones are a NO passing zone. This means that you cannot pass in the bike lane or in the lane for oncoming traffic. Please stay in the line until it is your turn.
  • Please pull ALL the way up on the blue curb so that as many cars as possible can fit in behind you. This significantly increases they number of students being picked up or dropped off, which in turn makes traffic flow more quickly.
