Swenson's Weekly Scoop
Highlights from November 3rd - November 7th
What have we been up to?
We have been busy learning about problem/solution and author's purpose (persuade, inform, or entertain) in reading. We created story boards showing a conflict and how it was solved, watched different commercials and video clips to determine the purpose, and worked on a learning sort where we had to determine the purpose of each written passage. Next week, we will be doing a project on all of the reading skills we've learned up to this point.
In math, we have been busy learning about graphs and tables. We have done several graphing activities, including graphing with Smarties. We also did some switching of math classrooms at the beginning of last week. It is possible that your child switched math classrooms.
We have also been learning about busy prepositions in grammar by creating preposition treasure maps and working with our preposition stuffed bunny named Josie. Ask your child about her.
