The Roaring Twenties started off with the hardships of the labor union. Many strikes were took place all around the U.S in the early 20's. The labor turmoil and the difficulties back to the peace time cause a short recession. But, that would soon change. The Commerce Seceratery, Herbert Hoover, convinced major industial companies to increase wages and productions in order to get the economy out of the huge hole it was in. The explotion of new major industries and robust advancements such as technology steadily increased the stock market. It was an easy time to get rich. Buisinesses all around were booming. From small to large, corporations were exceeding stocks substanially. But, agricultural rates still came in flat. Rural areas were not well affected by this boom as much as the urban areas. Farms slowling progressed. Technology didnt hit them until roughly around mid to late 1920's. Once 1929 came, The Great Depression soon took affect. With the stock market crashing, billions of dollars were left without a trace. The modern areas quickly fell to equal grounds as that of the rural areas.
Religion
In the 1920s religion was still politicaly important and although many cultures from all over the world were already in America at that time Christianity took a dim view of them as multiculturalism was not something to be proud of in those times. Christianity was the dominant religion in America, mainly Prodestant. However, many religions new to Aericans were coming into the country at this time such as Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims. Some found these people and their traditions interesting and resulted in some 'forign' religions to set up centres in America and but for the most part they were looked down upon by the Christian population.
