MAY Calendar

Dear KHS Families,

I am so excited and proud of our student’s results on the Iowa State Assessment of Student Progress! I will present a holistic (overall) view of the results Monday night. Preliminarily, we grew in ELA, Math, and Science. Our students and staff have worked so hard together. At the beginning of the year, I presented what we called the “KHS Playbook.” you can find it in our KHS Spotlight on the website. In that spotlight, you will see all of our staff's work in the backend to align the district's goals. At Keokuk High School, students who “Start here can succeed anywhere!”

We are at the point of the year where we will say goodbye to another phenomenal class of students. You started your high school career during a difficult time managing COVID and transitioning as a high school student. We are all very proud of your accomplishments and can not wait to celebrate you at the commencement on May 21, 2023. Awards will be presented on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Fieldhouse. We wish you all the best, and never forget that you will always be a Chief for life! Lastly, final exams for grades 9-11 are on May 25th and 26th; let’s finish strong!

If you HAVE NOT ORDERED your cap and gown and plan on walking, please call Kelli Rose @ 319-524-2542 ext. 1002. This needs to be done ASAP.

Parking Spots - May 1st

KHS seniors will begin to re-paint parking spots. This need to be completed by May 12th or there will be a $50.00 fee added to your students account.

Senior & Baby Pictures - May 4th

Please make sure that all Senior & Baby pictures are turned in NO LATER than May 4th. If you haven't done so, please email them to the following individuals:

Senior Final Exams & Check Out Day - May 12th

Senior exam finals and check out day will be held May 12th. All seniors need to complete their finals and will also have to completed their check out list before graduating. All fees must be paid before graduating.

Senior Parking spots need to be re-painted by today or a $50.00 will be added to your students account.

Baccalaureate - May 14th

KHS will hold a Baccalaureate Ceremony on May 14th @ 2:00 PM in the Wright Field House.

Online Classes Completed - May 15th

All online classes must be completed on May 15th. All final grades are due today in order to graduate.

Awards Night - May 17

KHS will hold its Awards Night @ 6:30 on May 17th in Wright Field House.

Mandatory Graduation Practice - May 18th

There will be a MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE on May 18th @ 9:00. All seniors are to meet in the KHS Cafeteria.

Caps & Gowns will be passed out after practice. They will also have a parade throughout all the school buildings in our district.

Graduation - May 21st

KHS will have their Graduation Ceremony on May 21st @ 2:00. Please come early for a great seat.
