Superintendent follow up message

Nationwide social media threat

Dear families,

I want to follow up on the nationwide social media school safety threat we brought to your attention yesterday late afternoon.

We have no specific safety threats to any of our schools regarding the post on the social media platform TikTok at this time. However, out of an abundance of caution we will have additional security patrol throughout the district today and local law enforcement are on high alert to support us.

As you may recall from the message you received yesterday, the post refers to a threat to school safety “for every school in the USA, even elementary,” on Friday, Dec.17. The post appears to be part of a national TikTok trend and did not originate in our school district.

If you or your student become aware of any threat posted to social media or anywhere else, please call 911 right away.

In partnership,

Dr. Gustavo Balderas

Superintendent
