TuES News Family Newsletter
Tuscarora Elementary School - January 22nd
Dear Timberwolf Families,
Important Information:
Hybrid Students will be returning to the building during the Week of February 16th.
(The exact date will be dependent on their assigned cohort.)
CLASSES & COHORTS
Student class & cohort assignments are determined and cannot be changed at this time.
Students were assigned to a hybrid or virtual cohort based on the intention forms previously completed. Families will be receiving this information at the beginning of February.
The next opportunity to change between hybrid and virtual will be at the start of Quarter 4.
SCHEDULES
When FCPS transitions to the hybrid model, we will move to the hybrid schedule
(sample linked here). The schedule provided is a sample schedule; each grade level schedule varies based on specials, lunch, and recess. You will receive a schedule specific to your child’s grade level and cohort prior to the change.
ORIENTATIONS
- New Teacher Orientations: Students who will be changing teachers will be invited to a Meet Your Teacher Google Meet during the week of Feb. 8th. Stay tuned for an invitation from your new teacher! Families are invited to log on with their students.
- Hybrid Orientations: Students who are returning to the building for the hybrid model will be invited to an online orientation to learn about our new school procedures. Information will be sent in the next TuES News Family Newsletter and through Schoology.
- Family Orientations: Families will be sent a collection of informational videos about all of the "need to knows" of the hybrid model. This will be communicated in the TuES News Family Newsletter and through Schoology.
Our teachers are committed to building strong classroom communities, and attending to the social-emotional needs of all students is a top priority. This is important for all students; those returning to the building for hybrid, those starting with a different teacher, and those who are continuing virtually with some new classmates.
Thank you.

A Message From Our Counselor, Mrs. Leber
Happy Civility Week 2021 !
The purpose of the FCPS Civility Week is to promote a kind and civil environment in our schools, at home, and in the community. Civility is polite, kind, and respectful behavior. This week will be celebrated from January 26th- 29th. Our Timberwolves will be hearing some messages on the morning announcements sharing ideas of ways to show kindness and respect at school and at home.
Please encourage your children to share ways that they can demonstrate kindness, respect and acceptance. In a couple weeks we will be doing more activities to promote these values during our National School Counseling Week. Tuscarora Elementary is committed to help our students feel accepted and to help our school community to create a culture of kindness, civility and respect.

Troubleshooting Tips for Chromebooks!
- Try removing your profile from the Chromebook. You must be signed out for this to work. It only takes a few minutes and will not change anything with your student's account. Watch How to Remove a Profile from a Chromebook.
- Make sure that your Chrome browser is up to date. See this guide for a step-by-step guide on checking for updates to Chrome.
