Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
This next week is going to be busy with multiple PTO events. Our Fall Fest will be on Wednesday from 4-7 and our Halloween parties will be on Friday. A huge shout-out to our PTO volunteers for pulling all of this together on such short notice. Our room parents have been busy putting together class baskets and supporting parent volunteers with planning for the parties. Please see the information below for details regarding both events next week. We can’t wait to see you there!

Halloween
All celebrations will be held on Friday, October 29th. KMM will hold their celebration from 10:00 - 10:55. All other classes will participate in our traditional Halloween parade starting at 1:30 followed by classroom parties.
Parents are welcome to view the parade outside by standing at the perimeter of the playground or on the south lawn (students will need to walk on the sidewalk).
All day K-5 students will wear their costumes in the afternoon only, so please make sure your child can get into his or her costume easily.
Protective masks must be worn with the costume.
Please remember that students are not allowed to bring replicas of weapons as part of their costumes. We also ask that students tone down anything that might scare our younger students (blood, etc.).
Costume masks will be allowed for the parade, but not during the classroom parties.
Our party volunteers will be organizing any treats that might be sent home. Please do not send your child with additional treats to pass out at the party.

Veterans Day Celebration
On Thursday, November 11th, at 9:00 am, Corron Elementary School will participate in a virtual Veterans Day program to celebrate those individuals who have given so much for the freedom we enjoy. Please help us prepare for this observance.
We plan to honor our veteran family members who have served, or are serving, in the armed forces, by assembling a video slideshow of photos of our community veterans. If you would like your veteran family member(s) included in the video, please email 1 digital picture of your veteran(s) to our LRC assistant: Karen.McVicar@d303.org. Please include what branch of service they are/were in, and their relationship to our Corron student(s). Only digital photos sent by email will be accepted. Digital photos of veterans are due by Friday, October 29, 2021, no exceptions. We cannot accommodate late entries this year because it takes time to assemble the video.
IMPORTANT: If you choose to send a picture of your veteran(s), please keep in mind that this video presentation, along with the name of your student(s), will be shared as a link, in a digital video format, with our larger Corron community. Our receipt of your photos will be your agreement to have the information and picture shared. If you prefer that only your child’s first name and last initial are shared, please let us know that and we will accommodate that request.
Thank you for supporting us in showing appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.
