Spring Break 2021 International Travel Advisory
Spring Break (March 22-26) is coming up fast. In order to help you plan for completing your semester successfully, we want to discourage you from any international travel that is not absolutely necessary. Currently, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is discouraging all non-essential travel even within the U.S. International travel, however, poses even more potential problems, because of the requirement that all travelers boarding planes bound for the U.S. have a negative COVID test within the past 72 hours. If you must travel internationally over Spring Break, please carefully read the CDC guidelines at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-air-travel.html
You do not want to find yourself unable to board your return flight because of the testing requirement.
If you must travel internationally, please complete this brief travel survey so that we are aware of your travel plans in case you need assistance. Do not complete this survey if you are not traveling or are traveling only within the U.S.

If you don’t have a travel signature on page 2 of your I-20 (signature is valid for up to one year from the date it was signed), please see the website below for the full instructions on how to get your I-20 signed.

March 11th, UCA's Day of Giving!
In December 2020, Bunny and Carol Adcock generously donated $20,000 to the Global Community Fund, bringing us within $3,000 of endowment. Their commitment to international students and study abroad continues to inspire us all at UCA.
For the 2021 UCA Annual Day of Giving, the UCA Student Government Association will match UCA student donations up to $3,000, giving this amount to the Global Community Fund!
Everyone in the Office of International Engagement is thrilled to see the Global Community Fund surpass the $25,000 endowment level so we can begin to provide microgrants to meet the diverse needs of international students.
Please join us in contributing to the Global Community Fund to move us toward our new goal for 2025 of $100,000! A $20 donation will give approximately $1 every year in perpetuity to UCA International Students! https://uca.edu/international/give/

To be seen in our office, you must have an appointment scheduled. Most appointments will be handled over the phone, by virtual meeting or email. It is very important to check your email for instructions by the staff member. If it is too late for you to schedule an appointment online, please email international@uca.edu or call 450-3445 to be worked into the schedule. When you arrive for an approved in person meeting, please be aware our lobby only has space for 3 people. If the lobby is full, we have additional seating in the main hallway. Thank you for helping us to social distance during these times.

Arkansas Fun Fact
Bates, Daisy L. Gatson (1914-1999) (Activist)
Each year on March 8, International Women's Day is observed to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Read about amazing women from Arkansas at the Arkansas Women's History Institute. Daisy Bates is most famous for her activism. Born in Huttig, Arkansas, Ms. Bates was an activist for human and civil rights. She was the first woman president of the Arkansas Chapter of the NAACP and published the Arkansas State Press (with her husband L.C.). She authored The Long Shadow of Little Rock. Ms. Bates is best known for the support, advisement, and mentorship she gave the Little Rock Nine during the 1957 Central High Crisis. The Bates moved to New York in 1960 after selling the State Press. They returned to Little Rock and she revived the paper in 1984. She has been honored many times for her work in the American civil rights movement. Stevie Wonder performed at her 80th birthday party in Little Rock and recently 14th street was renamed in her honor.
