A little bit about me...

For as long as I can remember I’ve been extremely passionate about helping others and although I have no regrets, life and responsibilities took me down a different path {years working in Corporate America} I am happy to say I am right where I want to be now. We were an active duty Air Force family until my husband retired two years ago {after serving a little over 25 years} and it was a wonderful journey but our children are young adults so I decided it was now time to do something I’ve always wanted to do. With the continued love, support, and encouragement of my husband and children I am just a few courses short of getting my degree in Behavioral Science. Although I have had the opportunity to mentor children and young adults for several years, I am pursuing this degree with plans of opening and operating a Family Advocacy Center {with my son and a few others} so we can provide counseling, mentoring, and other services to children and families on a broader scale. Although there have been a few challenges {especially with the high standards I set for myself} my time as an Ashford student has been amazing and I decided to get involved with CHAMPS so that I could help someone else have a similar if not better experience. In addition to school, I am actively involved with a number of charities, and I enjoy reading, participating in activities with my church, traveling, and spending time with my family.
