Sixer's Sunday School
Weekly Update for Parents, September 23, 2019
Also, we would like to add how glad we are to see our Sixers joining in the kids’ chorus yesterday, opening our worship and setting such an important example for kids who look to them. Life is super busy but connection and active involvement in our faith communities is worth the sacrifices of our time! Thank you!

We started out our morning working on our canvases that tell the story of "who I am."
Today's Lesson: Elijah and Elisha
Today's lesson focused on the story of Elisha and Elijah from 2 Kings chapter 2.
We talked about how Elisha got exactly what he asked for. Ask your Sixer what Elisha asked for and how we know he got it?!
We also looked at some verses in the New Testament, which included a story about Jesus in John 20:22 and a story about the disciples in Acts 2:1-4. Ask your Sixer if they can tell you what the connect was between these stories and the story of Elijah in the whirlwind.
We challenged ourselves to pay attention to the wind and what might be blowing around us this week!
Looking down the road...be sure to keep November 3rd on your calendar. After church that morning, we will begin working on our Three Kings Project. Also be sure to plan on attending worship for Epiphany (January 5) to see the full result of our Three Kings Project in action!
Next Week...We will visit the story of Elisha and the Army from 2 Kings 6!
