Welcome to the BHS Express

A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School

Andrea Conner, BHS Principal

Hello Bulldog Families.

What a beautiful first week back from break! It’s funny how one week can be rainy and miserable while the next causes you to consider turning on the air conditioning! Our students stepped right into the four-day week ready to go. We wrapped up our Geometry and Government End of Course Assessments while running a regular schedule for the remainder of the building.

Next week, we will be administering our US History and Biology End of Course assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday while the remaining students will be operating on a regular schedule. We appreciate your support in making sure your students are present at school on these testing days. We are really trying to make sure they are not placed in a position where they have to take multiple tests on one day. This can happen if attendance is an issue for your student.

Make sure you check out our student “shout out” section. BHS sophomore, Anna Stewart, sang The National Anthem at the Reds game on Thursday and did an amazing job. Freshman Madison Torres helped BHS celebrate Women’s History Month in March with her amazing drawings of famous women with their biographies compiled in one of our display cases. We have really talented students!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, and would like to wish everyone a restful weekend!

In service to our Bulldogs.

Anna Stewart, sophomore student at Batavia High School, was selected to sing The National Anthem at the Reds-Phillies Game on Thursday, April 13. Anna is one of our talented BHS students. Freshman Madison Torres displays her art in celebration of Women’s History Month

Freshman Madison Torres helped BHS celebrate Women’s History Month during March through displaying her beautiful artwork. Madison depicted some famous female figures while including some biographical information about them. She also worked with other BHS students to highlight female students and teachers throughout the entire month. Madison is another talented BHS student! Nice work!

    • End of Course Testing

      • End of course testing has begun and will continue for three more weeks after we return from spring break. To meet graduation requirements in the state of Ohio, a student must take end of course tests in 6 courses; Algebra I, English 10, Biology, US History, Government and Geometry. These tests are extremely important and students should be well rested and prepared to test.

    • Managing the Teen years can be overwhelming!
